- Message-ID: <90.34086.1184@svis.org>
-
- Greetings:
-
- I need a few questions answered here about the A3000's built-in SCSI
- controller. First off, I've upgraded the SCSI chip to a WD Revision -08.
- On the 2091 SCSI controller, there was a jumper that enabled syncronous
- transfers to occur. Under asyncronous, I got like 1.6mb/sec according
- to Sys[Mis]Info. However when the JP5 option was enabled on the card
- putting it in syncronous transfer mode, I got like 2.6mb/sec. That
- rate is about the best one can get out of a ZorroII card.
-
- Now on the A3000, with the same identical drive it comes up 1.6mb again.
- So... how do I changed it to syncronous mode?
-
- Also, are there any [EP]ROMs that can or need to be upgraded? I had
- the latest Revision -07 EPROMs on the A2091, but there appears to be no
- such corresponding chips in the A3000. Is this true then?
-
- And also, if the WD -08 is installed, is the A3000's built-in SCSI
- controller merely SCSI-2 compatible or the much preferred COMPLIANT
- [i.e., fully supported]?
-
- Leave me mail...
